NorWind's initiators and owners combine the preeminent of two worlds: Scatec, within the areas of renewable energy and environmentally-friendly 'advanced materials', and the Grieg Group, a leading logistics provider to oil and gas, and maritime industries. Through the parent companies, resepctively holding 60% and 40% shares, NorWind has the financial capacity and technological know-how to turn into a leading player in the offshore wind industry.

Today, NorWind owns technology and design expertise by holding shares in OWEC Tower, Teknisk Data and Sway. To complete the EPCI model, NorWind seek to further expand its ownership in various installation- and foundation production technologies, as well as in engineering consulting. In collaboration with credible partners and subcontractors NorWind offer a flexible approach to the offshore wind industry by means of proficiency gained from more than 30 years in the oil and gas sector. With these joint skills, expertise and competence NorWind propose a one-stop shop for the design, manufacture and installation of foundations to large offshore wind farms in Europe.

Fast expanding, NorWind intends to grow the organization to about 20 staff members by Q3 2008. Wind is an exiting business to be in; therefore NorWind will build up a strong team to manage the imminent opportunities and challenges in the international offshore wind industry.
